In my case it was COM4. On the input tab it will show like the picture below: Now Tap on Output Tab and select Acrivesync for sharing gps for pc use or Bluetooth server for sharing using bluetooth. Then follow the rest of the steps of setup wizard. Now go to setting of GPSgate on windows for input tab select Activesync and for output tab select any unused virtual port or Bluetooth server.

To verify that it is setup correctly, click on the new entry in the Output tab that is labeled as Recorder… below your list of Virtual COM Ports. It should say Running OK! By default, GpsGate logs to a folder within your Documents folder. It is basically a stream of NMEA sentences, one per line.

The type of data contained within each line is determined by the identifier at the beginning of the sentence. When you double click on one, a box will popup asking you to define your settings for the import. Serial ports show up on your computer as COM ports. To find out what port your device is registered on you need to venture into the Device Manager. The easiest way to do this on Windows 7 is to click Start then right click on Computer and select Manage. This will bring up the Computer Management console.

In here, on the left side under System Tools you should see an item called Device Manager. It will list all the logical devices on your computer including monitors, disk drives, keyboards and Ports. I'm trying to fix it now on the side of the road before today's chase and am pulling my hair out. You have to go back through the GPSgate setup wizard to get it working again, which i did. The GRLevel3 available port list shows ports 1 and 9.

GPSgate has 1 through 5 set. GPSgate won't let me set a port on 9. Why can't GR see ports 2 thru 5? Any ideas? I'm on Windows 10 and have the latest GRLevel3. James Hilger EF4.
